    This madrassa was built in the late 19th century not 18th. The Qazi of this madrassa belonged to the Khattak tribe from Latammar area who settled in Kohat city with his fellow family members. The madrassa was built by the Nawab of Bangash. Nawab Bahadar sher Khan was a close friend of Qazi Hassam ud din. Both were principle disciples of Akhund Salak in Kohat

Notable class mates were Qamar Zia (late), Shahnaz Shah (late), Shakaib Iqbal (engineer in USA), Auqil Bhatti (dr. in Lahore), myself (engineer in Canada), Nargis Ghaffar, Nasreen. Notable teachers were Sir Qureshi, Miss Williams, Sir Nizam Uddin etc.
